The quartet successfully completed over 60 live performances across North America in 2024, featuring music predominantly from three pivotal 1980s-era King Crimson albums: Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. Earlier this year, they made their mark in both Mexico and South America, further expanding their international presence.

“Stepping on stage with three virtuoso musicians—world-class professionals who have explored every facet of performance but still derive immense joy from playing this timeless music, which is distinct and unparalleled—is an exhilarating experience,” said Belew in a press release announcing the album. “The audience knows every lyric, and their excitement radiates back to us, creating an overwhelming atmosphere of energy and love. What could be more fulfilling than that?”

Reflecting on the experience, Vai expressed, “Touring with Beat has exceeded all of my expectations. Performing this incredible music with Adrian, Tony, and Danny has become one of my most cherished touring experiences. We are currently at the pinnacle of our artistry, and we have captured that magic on Beat Live.”

“This band truly rocks,” Levin remarked. “I am thrilled that we have high-quality recordings of our live performances—where innovation seamlessly blends with classic material, creating an unforgettable experience.”

The Beat Live album will be available in a luxurious deluxe edition that includes a Blu-ray along with three CDs; a Blu-ray paired with two CDs; and a premium three-LP vinyl set. This variety offers fans several ways to enjoy the music.

The music featured on the album was recorded during an electrifying performance in Los Angeles last year. Additionally, the deluxe edition contains a bonus CD featuring exclusive tracks recorded throughout their extensive North American tour, providing fans with even more content to enjoy.

Earlier this year, Belew shared with UCR that the group is contemplating the creation of new music, demonstrating their commitment to evolving as artists. “Currently, our primary focus is to honor the incredible legacy of King Crimson and perform wherever we are welcomed,” he stated. “However, I recognize that this endeavor has its limits. Once we’ve fully explored this material worldwide, I wouldn’t want to revisit the same tour again. There are simply too many exciting opportunities ahead.”
