Paris Fashion Week. Day five. Another highly anticipated designer debut. This time around, the fashion crowd gathered together to bear witness to the creative directional debut of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at Loewe. The design duo became the creative force behind the Spanish luxury fashion house in March, after the departure of the long-serving Jonathan Anderson (who is now installed at Christian Dior). Staged within Paris’ Cité Internationale Universitaire, the collection ultimately served as a twisted take on American sportswear and fused the brand’s heritage with typical sportswear archetypes – in a vibrant color palette. On the runway were exaggerated waterfall sleeves, leather jackets evoking wetsuits, layered dresses styled to resemble beach towels, and 3D printed pieces.
Loewe Spring 2026 Collection Review
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“First season and they’re already copying, which is what they do best, and probably why they hired them.” [Ihhbl]
“Stupid me to believe that Phoebe Philo would be off their moodboard for once. Nice bags. Nice use of colors. That’s it. I’m tired of them.” [Lola701]
“Standing ovation? I guess for Phoebe’s dresses, JW’s colors, Demna’s wrinkled t-shirt dress, and Demna’s zip-open bags. Ok, I salute those three designers too. But these two clowns brought nothing if their own. And that’s my problem with them.” [90sfan]
“Very bland designs, a big downgrade from Jonathan’s tenure.” [Marc10]
“No, but for real, I liked the collection. There was a good balance between fashion and commerciality. The color palette was visually appealing, and the soundtrack was catchy. There are some standout pieces that I can see becoming popular. Additionally, the accessories were quite cool.” [sonofagunns]
“I loved the collection. A lot of bold colors, rich textures, quirky proportions. The new Amazona bag looks great. It’s less artsy-fartsy than what Jonathan used to do, for sure, but still there is a lot of research behind this collection.” [IloveDiorHomme]
