Why ‘Adolescence’ Star Owen Cooper Said “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in Golden Globes Speech
Like her Mean Girls character, it’s like Amanda Seyfried had ESPN or something.
The Housemaid star made it clear she wasn’t surprised by the outcome of one of her categories at the 2026 Golden Globes, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., on January 11.
Indeed, as Melissa McCarthy and Kathryn Hahn opened the envelope after introducing the nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television—Amanda for Long Bright River, Michelle Williams for Dying for Sex, Claire Danes for The Beast in Me, Rashida Jones for Black Mirror, Robin Wright for The Girlfriend and Sarah Snook for All Her Fault—Amanda began softly clapping. So, she was primed for the applause as Michelle was announced as the winner.
In addition to her pre-announcement clapping, the Emmy winner appeared distracted by something on her table as she was looking down to her left while the other nominees smiled on in anticipation.
