Luck… or Something, the new album from Hilary Duff, tops this week’s fan-voted music poll.
Fans voted in a poll published Friday (Feb. 20) on Billboard, choosing the actress/singer’s return to pop music as their favorite release of the week.
Luck… or Something made its arrival among several other new music releases — from Megan Moroney, Baby Keem, SZA, Ty Dolla $ign and more. Duff’s sixth full-length LP, her first in over a decade, swooped in with a landslide victory. As the poll came to a close on Sunday, the singer held steady with 64% of the vote.
New single (and music video) “Weather for Tennis” came along with Duff’s album release via Atlantic Records on Friday.
Of the release, she said in a press statement, “here’s that question of whether women can have it all, and through this process I learned I had to sacrifice some things in order to put the record first. As hard as that is, I still believe it’s okay to choose yourself sometimes and do what scares the hell out of you. Carving out the time to make an album after all these years was incredibly powerful for me, and now I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Duff co-wrote the collection, which is produced by her husband, Matthew Koma, with Brian Phillips.
This summer she’ll head out on the road on a global headlining tour in support of her LP, with dates scheduled for the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. (A complete list of tour dates is available here.)
Among the new releases trailing behind Luck… or Something are Megan Moroney’s Cloud Nine, with 14% of the vote; Baby Keem’s Ca$ino, with 6% of the vote, and SZA’s “Save the Day,” with 5% of the vote.
