During an interview with Variety, Russell revealed that the screenplay was penned during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. He candidly admitted to feeling uncertain about his directorial capabilities initially, but he expresses satisfaction with the final product. “The film humorously critiques the competitive dynamics within this hierarchy among young men,” Russell elaborated. “While the scenarios may be exaggerated, they resonate with the real-life experiences of many.
