In true Marc Jacobs fashion, the designer just staged his latest collection off-schedule. Unofficially kicking off New York Fashion Week, the celebrated American designer returned to the historic Park Avenue Armory to present his Spring 2026 offering. Titled “Memory Loss”, the collection was inspired by Jacobs’ iconic 1993 grunge show for Perry Ellis. Nineties collections of Helmut Lang and Prada also served as inspiration, in addition to vintage Yves Saint Laurent couture pieces from the 60s. Models (including Alex Consani and Penelope Ternes) emerged from backstage sporting low-slung pencil skirts, liquid silk tops, plaid fabrics, sequin bandeaus, and sheer, elongated skirts – as Björk’s “Jóga” blasted through the vast showspace.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“I loved it! After those awkward big-volume shows, this is a nice return to reality.” [MModa]
“Sensational. Probably his best collection in twenty years. It’s so Marc: gorgeous color combinations, that specific NYC ease, and a practicality that makes it feel wearable from morning through night. And that mini dress with the sequins and the fuchsia skirt is especially lovely – sharp, and perfectly balanced color.” [Nimsay]
“Back to reality but with a twist. Fantastic, and just in time for the new Kennedy show. The world is moving forward again, we are in a new timeline.” [brandon J pierre]
“I like this collection; it’s very Marc, referring to a certain period in NYC that was very interesting.” [Norden]
“Beautiful collection. The square waist thing is very Margiela. Some very beautiful looks and ideas.” [Lola701]
