“At this stage in my career, I imagined I’d be more focused on hobbies like metal detecting on the beach or enjoying time with my dogs in the backyard,” Mark shared with attendees at the panel. “I even told my agent, ‘Honestly, I’m not feeling motivated anymore. I think it’s time for me to retire and only do voiceover work.’ The only ones who disagreed with me were my agent and my wife, as they believe it’s beneficial for me to stay active and engaged outside the home.”

Mark further elaborated that when he was approached for a role in The Fall of the House of Usher, he initially thought it would be a voiceover opportunity, not realizing he would appear on camera. He credited the talented Mike Flanagan for reigniting his enthusiasm for acting by offering him the role of the grandfather to the central character, which added a new layer of depth to his performance.
