The first trailer for Mark Wahlberg’s Play Dirty came out just a few days ago, but ahead of the arrival of his next film, one of his more recent action flicks has become a streaming sensation. Wahlberg stars alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness) and Rupert Friend (Jurassic World Rebirth) in Infinite, the 2021 sci-fi thriller following a man who discovers that his hallucinations are actually visions from a past life. Infinite is streaming on Netflix globally, where the film has been in the top 10 for more than 36 days in several countries around the world.
Infinite is, tragically, not streaming anywhere in the United States right now. But fans can rest assured knowing it likely won’t be long before the film returns to streaming in America, especially if it continues picking up steam in overseas markets. Infinite was not well-liked by critics or audiences, which led to the film holding a 17% from the former and 34% from the latter on Rotten Tomatoes. The film was also dumped by the studio and released straight to streaming, meaning it did not report any box office earnings.
Antoine Fuqua directed Infinite with a script from Ian Shorr and Todd Stein. The film is based on the novel The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Erik Maikranz. Fuqua most recently directed Denzel Washington’s third and final Equalizer movie. He’s next been tapped to direct the troubled Michael Jackson biopic, which was originally supposed to be released this year, but it has since been delayed to 2026, with talk of it being split into two parts. Chris Evans was originally due to star in the lead role in Infinite, but he had to back out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Mark Wahlberg.
When Does Mark Wahlberg’s New Movie Come Out?
Mark Wahlberg’s Play Dirty, which also stars LaKeith Stanfield and Keegan-Michael Key, will be released on Prime Video on October 1. Chukwudi Iwuji and Thomas Jane will also have roles in Play Dirty, which was directed by Shane Black. Best known for his work writing and directing The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, Black is also famous for his work directing Iron Man 3. He made his directorial debut in 2005 with Robert Downey Jr.’s cult favorite Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Check out Infinite on VOD platforms like Prime Video for now and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
