Christine Quinn’s Journey Through Turmoil and Resilience
At last, the star of Selling Sunset, Christine Quinn, is ready to share her deeply personal journey. In a revealing interview with People Magazine, she opens up about her tumultuous life as the wife of Christian Dumontet, detailing the painful circumstances surrounding her decision to file for divorce last year.

Quinn’s estranged husband, Christian Dumontet, who is also the father of her three-year-old son, found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident involving their child in March 2024. This incident led to further complications when he was arrested again for breaching an emergency protective order that Quinn claims was issued to ensure her safety and that of their son.
“People really don’t know this. I was hacked out of my entire life. I was stripped of my entire life overnight — I literally had nothing. And it was dehumanizing,” Quinn expressed to People. “I was completely resourceless.” Her harrowing experience reflects the emotional toll of her relationship, leaving her feeling vulnerable and exposed.
Fearing for her safety at home, the accomplished real estate agent resorted to staying in hotels or crashing on friends’ couches as a temporary solution. This uncertainty and instability added to the overwhelming stress during an already challenging time.

The shocking headlines that emerged from the couple’s breakup were difficult to comprehend, particularly when Quinn alleged that Dumontet had assaulted her in a grievous manner, claiming he attacked her with feces and urine. This incident was one of several that highlighted the serious issues within their marriage.
Quinn stated, “this is something that had been going on for a while.” Reflecting on the troubling dynamics of her relationship, she noted that these issues had been brewing beneath the surface for an extended period. “It was extremely unhealthy, and I like to think that I’m extremely resilient — and I am,” she proclaimed, showcasing her strength in the face of adversity.
Ultimately, Quinn made the difficult decision to end her marriage to protect her young son. She recognized that the toxic environment was not conducive to a healthy upbringing for him.

Reflecting on her experience, Quinn remarked, “There are certain things that I could tolerate, and it got to a point where it was affecting my son, and that wasn’t okay.” She recognized the responsibility she had not only as an adult but also as a mother. The chaos and instability that permeated their lives were no longer acceptable, especially for her child’s wellbeing.
Just how controlling was Dumontet, according to the former Selling Sunset star? She recounted chilling instances where he would physically prevent her from leaving. “There were times where my husband, literally, where I had to go to work and he would lay himself under my car,” she explained. “I would sit for an hour until I finally missed a meeting and gave up and would go back inside, or he would shut the gates down so I couldn’t leave. It was bad.” These revelations paint a disturbing picture of the dynamics in their relationship.

It’s evident that this experience was traumatic for Quinn, and she has since relocated to Texas with her son. She describes this move as a significant blessing, allowing her to be closer to her family and loved ones. “I am really, really grateful to be living here,” she expressed, highlighting the comfort of having her sister nearby and the joy of her son having a cousin to play with. This new chapter represents a much-needed escape from the chaos that characterized her life in Los Angeles.
As for Dumontet, neither he nor his legal representatives have responded to People’s requests for comment regarding Quinn’s serious allegations about their troubled marriage.
