Kate Hudson isn’t reflecting on the roles she’s declined.
Indeed, the Song Sung Blue star confirmed that she turned down the opportunity to portray Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man.
“Yes, I did,” Kate told Andy Cohen in response to a fan question on the Dec. 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “Now that I look back, it’s one of those things where I think, ‘That would have been nice to be in a Spider-Man movie.’”
While Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst handled the web-slinging and upside-down kissing in the franchise from 2002 to 2007, Kate shared the screen with another leading man.
“But at the same time, I did a movie called Four Feathers,” the 46-year-old revealed. “I got to meet Heath Ledger, who became a very good friend, and I had an experience that I would have never had.”
“So, a part of me thinks life happens exactly the way it’s meant to,” she added. “And so, I’m grateful for it. But I do look at it and think, ‘Aw, it would have been fun to be her.’”
