Paris Fashion Week. Spring 2026. Day eight. Chanel. Matthieu Blazy. The long-awaited debut. After months of anticipation, Matthieu Blazy made his first official outing as Chanel’s creative director. The fabled French fashion house appointed the French-Belgian designer as the artistic force in December 2024, following Virginie Viard’s abrupt departure. Staged within Paris’ newly renovated Grand Palais and set among a dazzling recreation of the Solar System, models (including Awar Odhiang and Lina Zhang) paraded the set sporting low-slung wrap skirts, boxy tweed jackets, and fringe dresses for a collection that fused heritage with modernity. Blazy’s history-making showcase was complete with a front row stacked with Margot Robbie, Penélope Cruz, and returning Chanel brand ambassador Nicole Kidman.
