A popular MCU character will be donning a new suit in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in United States theaters in less than a year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret War, follows in 2027.
Who is getting a new costume in Avengers: Doomsday?
In a TikTok shared by the official Empire State Building account, Avengers: Doomsday star Simu Liu confirmed that Shang-Chi will have a new costume in the forthcoming Marvel movie.
“It’s actually a brand new suit,” Liu said. “So, it’s a completely different suit that fit on me very differently. You know, I showed up to set and was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I know how to do this.’ And then I see the suit and the pieces and I was like, ‘Oh, this is not the same at all.’ But, you know, it just goes to show things change. It’s really special just to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and be wearing something like that. It’s an incredible feeling, and it’ll be an incredible ride when it comes out in theaters.”

Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars will then be released on December 17, 2027.
