For fans who tuned into the iconic reality show The Osbournes during its heyday in the early 2000s, it is well known that Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne are the proud parents of two children, Jack and Kelly. Some dedicated followers may even be aware of their third child, Aimee, a daughter who chose to distance herself from the family’s reality television life. However, many might not realize that before his marriage to Sharon in 1982, Ozzy had a significant prior family life. This history began in the early 1970s when he met Thelma Riley at a nightclub, The Rum Runner, where she worked. They married in 1971, and soon after, welcomed their first daughter, Jessica Osbourne.

Just three years following Jessica’s birth, Ozzy and Thelma expanded their family with the arrival of their son, Louis. Additionally, Jessica had a son, Elliot, from a previous relationship, whom Ozzy adopted as his own. Unfortunately, their family story was not filled with happiness and stability. In an A&R biography, Ozzy reflected on their early days, revealing that after achieving fame with Black Sabbath, he believed he had it all figured out when he married Thelma and welcomed his children. However, he acknowledged that he was living in a delusional state, as he soon realized that success was fleeting and did not equate to happiness.

During this period, Ozzy struggled significantly with substance abuse, which deeply impacted his family dynamic. He confessed, “I thought money would buy everything, would fix everything,” indicating that his wealth only fueled his addiction to alcohol and drugs. His behavior was detrimental to his marriage and his children’s upbringing. He candidly admitted to being selfish and egotistical, which led to a tumultuous relationship with Thelma. By 1982, after a series of incidents, including being fired from Black Sabbath due to his addiction issues, Ozzy and Thelma’s marriage ended in divorce.

After his divorce, Ozzy reinvented himself as a successful solo artist. He and Sharon built a life together, although it was often fraught with challenges. Together, they welcomed a new family, and despite the complexities of their lives, Ozzy is survived by all six of his children and several grandchildren, showcasing a legacy that extends beyond his music career.

Curious about the lives of all of Ozzy’s children and where they currently stand? Dive deeper into their stories here.

Discovering Jessica Osbourne: The Firstborn Child of Ozzy and Thelma

Born in 1972, Jessica Osbourne was introduced to audiences during the The Osbournes episode titled “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” It was during this episode that Ozzy proudly announced her becoming a mother himself, marking a significant moment in his life as he became a grandfather for the very first time.

Jessica has pursued a career in the film and television industry, showcasing her talents both in front of and behind the camera. She has made appearances in popular productions such as Better Call Saul, Romeo & Juliet Vs. The Living Dead, and Manhattan. Beyond acting, Jessica has also excelled as a director, key makeup artist, and costume supervisor on a variety of projects, even earning recognition as a makeup designer in Hollywood.

Despite her professional achievements, Jessica has expressed that Ozzy was not a significant presence in her upbringing. She shared in a 2011 documentary, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, “I don’t remember being put to bed or having a bath by dad or anything like that.” This sentiment reveals a sense of emotional distance, as she noted he was never there for key moments like sports days or school events, leaving her feeling unacknowledged during her formative years.

Exploring the Life of Louis Osbourne: Ozzy’s Second Child

Born in 1975, Louis Osbourne shares a similar sentiment regarding their father’s presence. In the documentary God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, Louis recounted that Ozzy was often absent, and when he was present, he struggled with sobriety. He reflected on chaotic memories, such as “driving cars across fields and crashing them,” which were detrimental to their family life. Louis expressed a poignant disappointment, stating he was upset Ozzy often forgot his birthday, which he wished would be acknowledged.

Despite the rocky relationship, Louis and Ozzy managed to reconcile. As Sharon noted during a Christmas episode of The Osbournes, he became “a big part of our family.” Currently residing in the U.K., Louis maintains a close relationship with his family. He remarked, “There’s more chance of us seeing each other in a random New York hotel than us all getting round a table for a Sunday lunch,” highlighting the reality of their busy lives. Nevertheless, he appreciates the moments they share, especially when Ozzy visits, taking the kids to his home in Buckinghamshire, where he is a doting grandfather.

In the 1990s, Louis pursued a career as a DJ, performing at notable venues in Ibiza and across the United States. Today, he enjoys a quieter life with his wife, Louise, and their children, embracing family life away from the limelight.

Understanding Elliot Kingsley: The Adopted Son of Ozzy

Not much information is publicly available about Elliot Kingsley, who is Thelma’s son from a previous relationship. When Ozzy and Thelma married, the legendary singer adopted Elliot. Similar to Aimee, Elliot chose not to appear on The Osbournes, and Ozzy rarely mentioned him. However, reports indicate that he has pursued a career in acting.

Aimee Osbourne: The Elusive First Daughter of Ozzy and Sharon

On July 4, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne tied the knot, and just over a year later, on September 2, 1983, they welcomed their first daughter, Aimee Rachel Osbourne. Growing up during Ozzy’s rise to fame as a solo artist, Aimee’s upbringing was undoubtedly influenced by the whirlwind of celebrity life. She described herself in a 2020 interview with SiriusXM Volume/Yahoo Music as having an “old soul,” recalling how even as a baby, she seemed to understand the chaos around her, expressing concern for her parents’ well-being.

Aimee made the conscious decision to opt out of the reality television fame that came with The Osbournes. She explained, “I moved out because it was just a bit too chaotic for me,” highlighting the unpredictable nature of reality TV at the time. Aimee has dabbled in acting and currently fronts her band, ARO, allowing her to maintain a level of creative expression while staying away from the public eye.

Born on October 27, 1984, Kelly Michelle Lee Osbourne emerged as a prominent figure on The Osbournes, often stealing the spotlight from her more infamous parents. In November 2002, she launched her music career with her debut album, Shut Up, featuring a cover of Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach,” which climbed to No. 74 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 2 on the U.K. Singles Charts. Additionally, her rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” topped the charts in the U.K. However, she did not replicate the same success with her later album, Sleeping in the Nothing, and subsequently shifted her focus to fashion and television hosting.

Kelly has faced her own battles with addiction, similar to her father. During an episode of Red Table Talk in June 2021, she opened up about relapsing into alcohol after the COVID-19 lockdowns, describing how a casual moment led to a return to drinking. Fortunately, she has since regained her sobriety and is committed to maintaining her health and well-being.

In November 2022, Kelly welcomed her first child, a son named Sidney, with Slipknot’s turntablist Sid Wilson, marking a new chapter in her life as a mother.

Jack Osbourne: The Dynamic Force Behind the Camera

Born on November 8, 1985, Jack Joseph Osbourne became a household name due to the family’s television series, which paved the way for a multifaceted career in entertainment. He has appeared in various scripted shows, including That ’70s Show, and reality programs such as Celebrity Wrestling: Bring It On! and his own series, Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie. Jack also collaborated with his father on Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour, and in 2020, they participated in the paranormal series The Osbournes Want To Believe, showcasing their unique father-son dynamic.

Jack has also faced challenges, particularly with addiction, and has sought rehabilitation to overcome these issues. In 2012, he revealed he had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which he has managed through diet, medication, exercise, and therapy. The year 2020 brought numerous health scares for Jack’s family, including COVID-19 diagnoses among his daughters and his mother, alongside Ozzy’s revelation of his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis, which led to the cancellation of his North American tour due to health complications. Jack expressed in March 2021 that the past year had been particularly tough on multiple fronts.

Jack was married to Lisa Stelly from 2012 to 2019, and together they share three children: Andy Rose (b. 2015), Pearl (b. 2012), and Minnie (b. 2018). In December 2021, Jack got engaged to fashion designer Aree Gearhart, and they welcomed a daughter named Maple Artemis Osbourne on July 19, 2022, further expanding the Osbourne family legacy.
