This not only means that new Pokémon will Mega Evolve, but it also brings back Megas from previous generations. One of the most iconic Mega Evolutions, Mega Charizard, returns with both its X and Y forms, but obtaining it will require some effort.

The First Step To Getting Mega Charizard
To obtain Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y, you must first acquire a Charmander and evolve it. Fortunately, this part is straightforward. Early in the game, you’ll receive a call from Mable at the Pokémon Research Lab, inviting you to visit. This will automatically trigger Side Quest #022, “A Call From Mable.”
After that, you can easily fast travel to the Pokémon Research Lab and head to the top floor, the Director’s Office, where Mable will be waiting for you. Here, she will allow you to choose from the Gen 1 starters: Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander.
Select Charmander, then level it up to Charmeleon and finally Charizard. This can be done easily by entering Battle Zones at night, and having extra Exp Candy in your inventory makes it even simpler.

You’ll Need To Save A Lot Of Money For Mega Charizard
Once you have Charmander on your team, start saving for Charizardite X or Charizardite Y. You can purchase both items, but each one costs 100,000 Poké Dollars, which is significant. You can buy both at the Stone Emporium, located near the Pokémon Center on Vernal Avenue.
If you need to gather money quickly, the easiest method is to enter Battle Zones, collect medals to boost your earnings multiplier, and earn money by defeating trainers in battles. This will also help Charmander level up, so it’s advisable to do both simultaneously.
After accumulating enough funds for Charizardite X and/or Charizardite Y, you can buy it from the Stone Emporium and give it to your Charizard as an item. This allows you to use Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y whenever your Mega meter is completely full. It may take time to earn enough money, but it’s worthwhile to obtain one of the most iconic Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
