Actor Michael B. Jordan recently discussed a pivotal role in his career that he considers the most significant. Although Jordan has numerous roles to reflect on, he believes his performance in a 2002 drama film stands out above the rest.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Black Panther actor shared insights on what he views as his career-defining role.

“I think the biggest one that I can think of, off the top of my head, is probably Wallace from The Wire,” Jordan revealed.

“I think The Wire really made me fall in love with what I was doing,” the Creed star continued. “You know, being surrounded by such veteran actors and storytellers. I got the chance to really learn from them, get inspired, and truly fall in love with the craft. So, I would probably say The Wire was the one for me that set things into motion,” he added, highlighting its impact on his career.

Michael B. Jordan received the 39th Annual American Cinematheque Award on November 20, 2025. He was recognized for his contributions as both an actor and a director in recent years.

As the year draws to a close, fans continue to praise his portrayal of the identical Smokestack Twins in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners as one of the standout performances of 2025. The interviewer noted how Sinners could also be among his most significant works as awards season approaches.

Jordan responded by stating, “Just being part of the conversation this late in the year, and people are still excited about the movie we made—it speaks volumes. It was really a family and a team effort.” He credited the film’s success to everyone involved in its creation, referring to it as a celebration of their “great work.”

The Marvel star concluded by saying, “We’re all enthusiastic about celebrating each other. So, we try to do that as much as we can.”
