Heartfelt congratulations are overdue for Mick Jagger and his long-term partner Melanie Hamrick, as they have announced their engagement, a joyous milestone in their relationship.
Confirming the exciting news to Paris Match, Hamrick revealed that the legendary frontman of The Rolling Stones has held the title of her fiancé for “two or three years.” When discussing the prospect of marriage, she expressed, “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.” This sentiment reflects their deep bond and the happiness they share.
Jagger and Hamrick, who is a talented former ballerina and choreographer at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, have been together since 2014. Their romance blossomed slowly, as Jagger was still in a relationship with the late model L’Wren Scott when they first crossed paths in Japan, where both The Rolling Stones and the American Ballet Theatre were on tour. Reflecting on their initial meeting, Hamrick recalled, “We didn’t even exchange phone numbers.” She noted, “At the time, I wasn’t in a relationship, but he was,” indicating the complexity of their beginnings.
The loving couple is also proud parents to their eight-year-old son, Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger, who often graces his mother’s Instagram account, showcasing their close-knit family moments and joyful experiences together.
Mick Jagger is a father to seven other children, beginning with his eldest daughter, Karis, born in 1970 with actress Marsha Hunt. The following year, he welcomed his second daughter, Jade, with his ex-wife Bianca Jagger. Additionally, with his former partner Jerry Hall, he shares four children: daughters Elizabeth (41) and Georgia May (33) and sons James (39) and Gabriel (27). Furthermore, he has a son, Lucas (25), with model Luciana Morad Gimenez, reflecting a rich family legacy.
