Mick Jagger, the iconic frontman of the legendary rock band Rolling Stones, is officially engaged to his long-term partner, Melanie Hamrick. In a recent feature with Paris Match, Hamrick, who is a retired professional ballet dancer, revealed that she accepted Jagger’s heartfelt proposal approximately “two or three years” ago. Their romantic journey began in 2014, culminating in the birth of their son, Deveraux, in 2016, which has further solidified their bond.

Interestingly, while Hamrick has never been married, Jagger was previously married to Bianca Jagger from 1971 until their divorce in 1978. This unique background adds an intriguing layer to their relationship.

Although Hamrick expressed excitement about the engagement, she also mentioned that there are currently no specific wedding arrangements set in motion. She stated, “Maybe one day, maybe not,” indicating that their current happiness takes precedence. “We’re so happy in our current life that I’d be too afraid to change anything,” she added, emphasizing the importance of their present situation.

During the interview, the 37-year-old Hamrick candidly shared her attraction towards older men, which has been a consistent theme throughout her adult life. “I think it’s a question of maturity,” she explained. Reflecting on her teenage years, she noted that at just 17, she was already working, managing her finances, and traveling extensively, while many of her peers were still trying to figure out their life paths. “I had nothing in common with them,” she recalled. Her unwavering focus on dance left little room for distractions, and she has always sought partners who matched her level of maturity.

Despite the public scrutiny that often accompanies relationships with significant age differences, Hamrick confidently asserted that she doesn’t let outside opinions affect her happiness. “Why worry about other people’s opinions, stop at what they think of us?” she questioned. Her main concern is the happiness of herself and those around her: “Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. … As long as everyone is happy and healthy, everything is fine,” she affirmed, showcasing her strong sense of self and values.

Since stepping away from her ballet career, Hamrick has channeled her creativity into writing, successfully authoring and publishing two adult fiction novels titled First Position and The Unraveling. These works reflect her artistic talent and provide insight into her life beyond dance.
