Miley Cyrus Discusses Engagement to Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus is determined to protect her privacy.

The “Flowers” singer spoke out after confirming her engagement to Maxx Morando on Dec. 2, following four years of dating, expressing her surprise at their ability to keep most details private.

“The detail I can share is that, for us, our privacy and keeping it small has been something that I’ve been astounded that I’ve actually been able to have,” Miley shared with People in an interview published on Dec. 2, “and being able to kind of have more choice.”

The 33-year-old attributes part of her success in setting boundaries in her relationship with Maxx, 27, to her age. She noted, “It’s also being older, being more protective of what I’m open to sharing.”

Miley is also proud of other aspects of their relationship. After finalizing her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in 2020, less than two years after their California home was destroyed in the Malibu fires, she found that meeting and falling in love with Maxx in 2021 demonstrated her ability for “starting over” and “building again.”
