“I’ve been overwhelmed by all the love and support, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude,” Mescudi began. “People have been reaching out to check on me over the past week, even today. It truly means so much to me. I appreciate every one of you. I love you all dearly.”

He proceeded to reflect on the trial, sharing, “It’s a stressful situation, and I’m relieved to have it behind me. I love you all. Big love. Don’t forget to stream [his latest single] ‘Neverland.’”

During his testimony, Mescudi detailed the timeline of his relationship with Ventura, stating they initially met in 2008 and began dating around 2011. At that time, he was aware that “she and Sean Combs had some issues and they weren’t together anymore,” which added complexity to their interactions.

In December 2011, Mescudi recounted receiving a frantic phone call from Ventura, who was visibly upset, informing him that Combs had discovered their relationship. She expressed being “really shaken” by the situation, as Combs knew their connection and potentially had her address, indicating he might come to confront Mescudi directly.

Ventura also disclosed to Mescudi that Combs had been physically abusive towards her, stating that he “would hit her and sometimes kick her.” Mescudi clarified that he was not informed about any potential sexual abuse, which added to the gravity of the allegations being discussed in the trial.

Mescudi expressed confusion over the situation, as he believed that she and Combs were no longer involved. However, her distressed tone during the call prompted him to go pick her up, indicating the seriousness of her emotional state and the tense circumstances surrounding their relationship.

According to Mescudi’s testimony, after picking Ventura up, they went to a nearby hotel where they encountered a Combs associate named Capricorn Clark. He described Clark as looking “very scared” and “on the verge of tears,” revealing that Combs and two of his friends were inside Mescudi’s home during this time, heightening the tension of the situation.

“She was coerced into dealing with them over there,” Mescudi testified, explaining that Clark was on the phone during this encounter. This prompted Mescudi to return home, where he called Combs, demanding to know, “Motherf–ker, are you in my house?”

Combs confirmed that he was at Mescudi’s residence, stating, “I just want to talk to you. I’m over here waiting for you,” which further escalated the situation and raised concerns for Mescudi.

Mescudi later discovered that significant events had transpired in his absence. He observed that his security cameras had been repositioned, gifts he had bought for his family were unpacked and on the kitchen counter, while his dog was locked in a bathroom, indicating an unsettling invasion of his personal space.

Despite Diddy’s claims of being at Mescudi’s home, Mescudi noted that he was not present when he called. Combs stated he was “on his way,” and after assessing the situation in his home, Mescudi admitted, “I wanted to confront him. I was ready to fight him.”

However, after calming down, he recognized the potential danger, stating, “I don’t know who he has with him. I don’t know what his intentions are.” This realization led him to contact the police and file a report about the apparent break-in, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

Amidst all the chaos, Mescudi shared that he and Ventura spent the holidays together with her family in Connecticut. During this time, Combs sent multiple texts expressing a desire to talk to him. “I guess he was unaware of the situation and wanted to discuss things, but after the break-in, I had no interest in communicating,” Mescudi testified.

Following his account of the alarming break-in at his home, Mescudi transitioned to recounting the alarming incident involving the explosion of his Porsche just a month later, which captured significant media attention and raised numerous questions about safety.

In January 2012, Mescudi received a phone call from his dog sitter, who informed him that his car was on fire. The sitter sent him photos that were shown to the jury, illustrating the extent of the damage. Mescudi, who was approximately 45 minutes away at the time, described the destruction as “Molotov cocktail” damage, expressing his shock with a simple, “What the f–k.”

“It appeared that the top of my Porsche had been cut open, and that’s where the Molotov cocktail was inserted,” he testified, noting that one was discovered by police in the driver’s seat, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding the fire.

While he expressed his belief that Combs was behind the car fire, the defense countered by questioning the speculation, resulting in this part of his testimony being removed. During cross-examination, Mescudi was asked if he was aware that DNA found in his vehicle after the fire belonged to a woman; he responded that he never received any follow-up from authorities regarding the results, creating further intrigue in the case.

Following this distressing event, Mescudi noted that things were “getting out of hand,” prompting him to reach out to Combs and finally suggest they meet to discuss the escalating situation. He indicated that Combs had been eager to talk, making it necessary to have a direct conversation.

Upon arriving, he found Combs already at the hotel, “standing there, staring out the window with his hands behind his back, like a Marvel supervillain,” which set a tense atmosphere for their conversation.

During their meeting, Mescudi recounted discussing their entire history from the inception of his relationship with Cassie to its unfortunate ending. He stated that he took Ventura at her word when she claimed she and Combs were no longer involved.

He described Combs’ calm demeanor during the meeting as “off-putting,” particularly as Combs denied any involvement in the car fire. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Combs allegedly told him when pressed about the incident.

At this point, Mescudi withdrew his hand from a handshake with Combs, who then remarked, “Wait, I thought we were cool.” Mescudi reiterated his belief that Combs was responsible for the burning of his car, though Combs assured him that he had nothing to do with it.

Regarding Ventura, Mescudi expressed disappointment upon learning that she had seemingly returned to Combs. He described her arrival at the meeting and how she explained, “we fell in love and things just happened,” which complicated the dynamics further.

Following the breakup, Mescudi revealed that he and Ventura “just stopped talking” after nearly constant communication for a year. During cross-examination, he was asked, “She played you, right?” to which Mescudi replied, “Yes,” admitting the complexities of their relationship.

In fact, when defense attorney Brian Steele questioned whether it was Ventura who was playing both him and Combs, Mescudi conceded, “True,” acknowledging that she was “living a double life” with both men, which adds layers to the ongoing narrative surrounding her actions.

Mescudi recounted a surprising encounter years later in 2015 when he ran into Combs, who pulled him aside and said, “Man, I just want to apologize for everything and all that bulls–t.” This unexpected apology provided Mescudi with a sense of closure, allowing him to “find peace” after the turbulent events.

“That was the last thing I was expecting to hear from him,” Mescudi stated, reflecting on the unexpected nature of the reconciliation.
