The Cure has officially launched Mixes of a Lost World, an exciting expanded version of their highly anticipated 2024 album, Songs of a Lost World. This collection features an impressive array of remixes, offering fresh interpretations of the original tracks.

Comprising a total of 24 tracks, this extensive collection presents three distinct remixes for each of the eight original songs from the album, crafted by renowned artists including Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, and many others.

Below, you can explore the complete track list and enjoy two standout tracks: Four Tet‘s captivating remix of “Alone” and Paul Oakenfold‘s cinematic reinterpretation of “I Can Never Say Goodbye.”

Mixes of a Lost World is currently available for pre-order in various formats through the Cure’s official website, with an anticipated shipping date set for June 11th.

This exciting announcement coincides with a significant date, April 21, which marks the 66th birthday of Robert Smith, the iconic frontman of The Cure. While Smith is celebrating his personal milestone, it is the devoted fans of The Cure who are receiving this remarkable gift. The original album, Songs of a Lost World, is celebrated as the band’s first new studio release in 16 years and has been widely regarded as one of their most powerful works. Undoubtedly, the loyal followers of The Cure will be thrilled to experience these newly reimagined versions of their beloved tracks.

Robert Smith Teased Upcoming Releases from The Cure

In a revealing update from December, Robert Smith hinted at further musical projects in the pipeline for The Cure. He mentioned, “There’s another album which is pretty much ready to go,” likely referring to what we now recognize as Mixes of a Lost World. He described it as a companion piece [to Songs of a Lost World] to their recent work.

Continuing with his insights, Smith shared, “There’s a third one, which is completely different,” expressing that it consists of more eclectic and random material—essentially late-night studio creations. He emphasized that some of this content is truly exceptional, even though it diverges significantly from their usual sound.

Despite the increased creative output from The Cure, Smith has also indicated that there is a limited timeframe remaining in his musical career. In an interview last October, he discussed plans to embark on a farewell tour in 2028 to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary, after which he plans to retire.

“I’ll be 70 in 2029,” he stated. “And that’s it, that really is it. If I make it that far, that’s it.”
