Towards the end of the podcast episode, Jesse asked Eric what he missed most about Modern Family, to which he replied, “just chatting,” before recalling a humorous incident.

“[Casting director] Jeff Greenberg walking into the glass that day,” Eric remembered. “It’s the greatest moment ever. No, we taped off his face mark. Remember? His face mark lived that whole season, and he just walked right towards us.”

“Normally, on set, the craft service area is a table in the corner. And because we were a hit, quote unquote, they built this tiny little glass box in the middle of the stage. It was like a little kitchen,” Jesse explained. “It was a glass box, with doors and windows. And we were inside having breakfast when Jeff Greenberg, our brilliant casting director, came strutting across and face-planted into the glass.”

Eric added, “And we saw it coming from a mile away but couldn’t do anything about it… And then when he walked away, we noticed his face print was still on the glass. So we blue-taped his face print, and it remained there in memoriam for months.”

They also reminisced about their first outing together for lunch on Valentine’s Day.

“The pairing worked. I always tell people that we went out to get to know one another and realized halfway through that it was Valentine’s Day,” Jesse shared. “We were both single at the time, so neither of us had Valentine’s Day on our minds.”

Eric added, “Neither of us knew. We walked into [Intelligentsia Coffee] in Silver Lake and noticed there were many couples around. It was Valentine’s Day. That shows how lonely we each were; we didn’t realize other lovers were there. We literally broke bread for the first time on Valentine’s Day.”

Jesse said, “That’s right. That’s literally how we started getting to know one another.”

The guys also discussed Eric‘s low-key wedding that Jesse wasn’t invited to, how his wife changed him, playing the clown Fizbo on the show, and much more. Watch the full video, which is the podcast’s first YouTube episode, right here!
