Modern Family Stars: Their Journey from Then to Now

Attention, everyone!

Sixteen years ago, on September 23, 2009, Modern Family made its debut on ABC. After following the Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker family through 11 seasons of life’s ups and downs, fans continue to celebrate the cast’s significant milestones off-screen.

Earlier this month, for example, Eric Stonestreet not only turned 54 but also got married to Lindsay Schweitzer.

“It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” the actor, known for his role as Cam Tucker on the show, posted on Instagram on September 9. “I got married!”

His on-screen husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson was overjoyed by the news.

“Of all the second marriages, this one is my favorite!” exclaimed the 49-year-old actor who played Mitchell Pritchett. “I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!”

Their TV daughter is also making strides—changing her name from Aubrey Anderson-Emmons to Frances Anderson as she pursues her music career.

“Frances is actually part of my legal name,” the 18-year-old actress, who portrayed Lily on Modern Family, shared with E! News last month. “It’s my middle name, and it’s after my mom’s old family friend. I thought Frances was a bit shorter than Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. I do have a long, hyphenated last name. But I wanted to switch it up, and I wanted people to see a new side of me, and I wanted to create a space specifically just for music.”
