Jimmy Kimmel‘s wife Molly McNearney may be facing an uncomfortable Thanksgiving as she revealed that some family relationships have been significantly strained due to her husband’s public conflict with Donald Trump.
Molly appeared Thursday on the "We Can Do Hard Things" podcast alongside Jimmy, where she confessed that it has been tough to navigate her politically conservative family while opposing the leader of the Republican Party.
She stated, “To me, them voting for Trump is them not voting for my husband and me and our family.” It has been challenging, and she has “unfortunately” lost connections with some family members because of it.
As you may know, Trump celebrated the decision to temporarily suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” earlier this year after the late-night host mentioned Charlie Kirk‘s alleged murderer in a monologue.

Jimmy has since been reinstated, but the incident raised concerns about potential threats to free speech. For Molly, who is an executive producer of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the threats from the current administration resonate even more deeply.
“This is not just Republican versus Democrat for me anymore,” she expressed. “It is about family values, and it’s really hard for me because I grew up believing in these Christian ideals of caring for the sick and helping the poor, and I don’t see that happening with this Republican party.”
She continued, “When I see these terrible stories every day, I’m immediately angry at certain aunts, uncles, and cousins who put him in power. And it’s really hard.”
Jimmy and Molly married in 2013 and have two children — Jane, 11, and Billy, 8.
