It has been five years since Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train was released in theaters, making it the highest-grossing Demon Slayer film until the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. Now, anime fans can relive this fantasy epic in an upcoming physical home release scheduled for next year. Crunchyroll has opened pre-orders for the 4K physical release of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, scheduled to ship on January 13, 2026. For a listed price of $71.98, fans will receive a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc of the movie, a special accordion booklet, and promised bonus content.
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train adapts the “Mugen Train” arc of the Demon Slayer manga and takes place directly after the events of Season 1. Tanjiro (Zach Aguilar), Nezuko (Abby Trott), Zenitsu (Aleks Le), and Inosuke (Bryce Papenbrook) board the Mugen Train to assist the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku (Mark Whitten), in finding a demon on board. But as they continue to board the train, the Demon Slayers fall into deep sleep, thanks to a spell by Lower Rank One, Enmu (Landon McDonald).
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was released in 2020 and has since grossed over $484 million worldwide. It was highly praised by fans and critics on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a 98% Certified Fresh critics score and a 99% Verified Hot Audience score. Additionally, the film won numerous accolades, including “Best Film” at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and “Animation of the Year” at the Japan Academy Film Prize.

Since the anime adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba premiered in 2019, the Japanese franchise has released two standalone films and two anime compilations.
