Murder Charge Leads to Arrest of Emmanuel Haro’s Parents

Emmanuel Haro Case: Police Confront Mom of 7-Month-Old Over “Inconsistencies” in Kidnapping Story

Authorities are sharing an update on the Emmanuel Haro case.

The parents of the missing 7-year-old, Rebecca Haro and Jake Haro, were arrested on August 22 on a murder charge, the San Bernardino Sheriff Department confirmed.

“This morning, detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail and Specialized Enforcement Division arrested Jake and Rebecca Haro at their residence in Cabazon for PC 187 – Murder,” the department’s public information office said in a statement to E! News. “Investigators will continue their search for seven-month-old Emmanuel Haro.”

The statement added, “Please follow our social media pages for updates.”

E! News has reached out to lawyers for Rebecca and Jake and has yet to hear back.

The arrest comes just over a week after Rebecca first reported Emmanuel’s supposed kidnapping from a local Big 5 Sporting Goods store parking lot in Yucaipa, about 70 miles east of Los Angeles, on August 14. Two days later, authorities announced that they weren’t ruling out foul play due to “inconsistencies” found in the mother’s testimony.
