National Anthem at NBA Finals Game 7 by Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth, standing at just 4-foot-11, continues to make headlines by performing at the NBA Finals. This talented actress and singer proves that great things come in small packages as she takes the stage.

The award-winning entertainer and proud Oklahoma native, who has been inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, is set to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Game 7 of the championship series featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers this coming Sunday night, June 22, as announced by the NBA.

Catch Chenoweth’s electrifying performance, which will be broadcast live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET, just moments prior to the tipoff of this highly anticipated final game of the season.

On Saturday, Chenoweth teased her upcoming appearance on social media, donning Thunder gear and sharing that she was in Oklahoma City. She playfully remarked that she should “start warming up” before giving a sneak preview by singing a few notes of the national anthem.

Her unwavering support for the Thunder is well-known, dating back to the franchise’s inception. Although she has occasionally expressed admiration for the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, the Thunder are undoubtedly her favorite team. In fact, she once shared with Tulsa World that she dedicated three hours to bedazzling a Thunder hat. Chenoweth, who was raised in Broken Arrow, a town located about 115 miles northeast of the Thunder’s home arena, attended Oklahoma City University.

Adding to her Thunder enthusiasm, even her dog’s name is Thunder. She has even dressed her beloved pup in a cute Thunder outfit in the past, showcasing her passion for the team.

Chenoweth has previously graced the stage at numerous Thunder games, singing the national anthem both solo and alongside children from her Chenoweth Broadway Bootcamp. This camp is a key initiative under her arts and education fund, designed to nurture “young artistic expression by enhancing children’s lives through the transformative power of education, entertainment, and experience.”

In 1999, Chenoweth earned a Tony Award for best leading actress in a musical for her stunning performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She also received two additional Tony nominations for her remarkable roles — one in 2004 for her portrayal of Glinda in the hit musical Wicked and another in 2015 for her performance as the glamorous Lily Garland in On the Twentieth Century.

In 2009, she was awarded an Emmy Award for best supporting actress in a comedy series for her outstanding performance on ABC’s Pushing Daisies.
