Netflix Shows to Binge This Weekend: 3 Must-Watch Picks

Following the huge success of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story, the next installment in Ryan Murphy‘s serial killer franchise finally arrived last weekend. Monster: The Ed Gein Story has, unsurprisingly, shot straight to the top of both the US and global Netflix charts and will likely stay there for quite some time yet. Dominating discourse and viewing figures, for anyone who isn’t fond of the series, it can be difficult to wade through the conversation to find your next binge-watch. Thankfully, Collider is here to help with a look at three shows you should binge-watch on Netflix this weekend.

3 ‘Boots’ (2025)

If you’re unsure of what to watch this weekend but fancy trying something new, look no further than Boots. Created by Pantheon producer Andy Parker, this tale, inspired by US Marine Greg Cope White’s memoir, The Pink Marine, follows gay teen Cameron, played by 13 Reasons Why‘s Miles Heizer, as he joins the Marine Corps. Bullied throughout his adolescence, this risky move into a volatile environment is about to change Cameron’s life.

Stories centered on the recounting of real, queer coming-of-age experiences are more popular than ever, with the likes of Big Boys in the UK and Overcompensating in the US finding huge success. For a slight twist on this poignant premise, look no further than Boots. Featuring a wonderfully immersive central performance from Heizer, there is a chance that Boots could fall under the radar of many Netflix subscribers. Don’t let that be you. That’s an order!

2 ‘Interview With the Vampire’ (2022–Present)

Rejoice! Interview with the Vampire Season 2 is now on Netflix and is the perfect way to spend your weekend. Originally made for AMC, this adaptation of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels, not to be confused with the Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise-led movie, follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) as he invites Pulitzer-winning reporter Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) to his home in Dubai, intent on telling his immortal life’s story.

You don’t earn a near-perfect 99% critics’ score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes for no reason. Featuring stunning visuals and gripping central performances, Interview with the Vampire pays perfect homage to the beloved novels it’s based on. A beautifully captivating blend of horror and romance makes for a perfect watch this spooky season.

1 ‘Gilmore Girls’ (2000–2007)

It’s fall, the leaves are turning burnt orange, and there’s only one thing you should be watching. This weekend, return to Stars Hollow on Netflix and reunite with the Gilmore Girls for more fast-talking, heartwarming comedy and drama. The series charts the ups, downs, and in-betweens of single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her teenage daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), as they navigate family drama, blossoming friendship, and diner-born romance under the sepia sun of their cozy town.

Boasting an unforgettable ensemble of beloved characters, from Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) to Luke Danes (Scott Patterson), Gilmore Girls is perhaps the most iconic show of the season. Beyond its unique style of dialogue and comforting color palette, the show’s best asset is its perfect longevity, following a mother-daughter relationship like no other that’s somehow still deeply relatable. This October, it has to be Gilmore Girls.
