In her candid conversation with The Independent, Bryce reflected on her experiences with films like Argylle and The Lady in the Water, both of which received unfavorable reviews. She emphasized that she does not allow negative feedback to affect her personal outlook.
“You can always foresee the outcomes while you are in the midst of production. I have never experienced shock when a project fails to connect. However, my role is fundamentally that of an actor – my purpose is to fulfill the vision set forth by the director. If a film doesn’t align with the initial vision, it’s difficult to feel a sense of disappointment because the project does not belong solely to you. You are not the architect behind it,” she articulated to the publication.
Additionally, Bryce shared that her father, the renowned director Ron Howard, struggles to detach himself from his projects in the same manner.
“It truly amazes him that I can approach it this way,” Bryce conveyed to The Independent, noting that her father often feels heartbroken whenever a project he directs underperforms. This stark contrast in their reactions highlights the varying emotional investments that actors and directors may have in their works.
