Nikki Glaser is heading back to the Golden Globes and she’s feeling the pressure.

Ahead of her return as host of the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, the comedian opened up about what it’s like to follow a debut that was almost universally praised while chatting with The Hollywood Reporter.

Recently, Nikki watched her 2025 hosting performance for the first time and was surprised by how well she did.

“Well, damn, I kind of nailed it,” she said, before admitting the success is a little scary. “That was kind of lightning in a bottle. I got really lucky with some of the nominees. Everything worked out. So it’s a high bar. I’m kind of screwed.”

Still, Nikki says she’s excited to dive back into the writing process, especially the chaotic final stretch where the best ideas often show up. “That’s when it starts to get loopy and weird,” she shared. “I’m excited for what comes out of that.”

She also got candid about imposter syndrome, something she believes actually helps when hosting in a room full of A-listers. “Instead of thinking, ‘I don’t deserve this,’ I’m trying to turn imposter syndrome into, ‘I’m so grateful that this is my life.’”

That mindset also gives her freedom as a host. “It’s good that I know I’m not one of these A-listers,” Nikki explained. “That gives me license to make fun of them a little bit more.”

But the biggest hurdle is the current landscape surrounding pop culture and entertainment. “What’s hard is that people don’t watch things anymore,” she said, pointing to how fractured audiences have become. “Even Marty Supreme, do people not even know that’s about ping pong? People don’t know what the hell Jay Kelly is. They know George Clooney.”

Even so, Nikki says she’s chasing the same energy that made last year work by having fun and staying on her toes.
