Noel Gallagher of Oasis has given his first interview following the launch of the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour, and he has surprisingly praised his brother Liam Gallagher after years of negative exchanges between them.
The brothers had a notoriously tumultuous relationship during the band’s original run, which ended in 2009. They remained estranged for many years, often taking jabs at each other on social media and in interviews. In 2023, they appeared to be publicly at odds regarding reunion discussions before unexpectedly announcing in 2024 that a reunion would indeed take place.
Since the announcement of the reunion, Noel has mostly kept quiet about the tour, while Liam has taken on the role of promoting it on social media and speaking positively about his brother publicly.
What Did Noel Gallagher Say About Liam Gallagher?
In an appearance on talkSPORT (seen below), Noel Gallagher expressed a positive outlook regarding the Oasis reunion. He stated, “It’s great just to be back with Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again. I guess when it’s all set and done, I’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam. I’d forgotten how funny he was.”
When asked about Liam’s vocal performance on the tour, he initially joked, “It’s AI.” However, he added seriously, “Liam’s smashing it, I’m proud of him. Having been fronting a band for 16 years, I know how hard that is. I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does it; it’s not in my nature, but I’ve got to say, good for you, mate. It’s been amazing.”
How Does Noel Gallagher Feel About the Reunion Tour?
Noel was surprisingly at a loss for words when responding to questions about the tour.
“Completely blown away. Everyone is. It’s difficult to put it into words actually,” he shared. “Every night is the crowd’s first night, do you know what I mean? So every night’s got that same energy to it. But it’s been truly amazing. I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it.”
Despite the guaranteed interest surrounding the reunion run, Noel admits he has been taken aback by what he has experienced.

“For me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes, I was like, alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?,” recalls Gallagher regarding the first show. “I’ve done stadiums before and all that, but I don’t mind telling you, my legs turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song. It’s been an amazing thing; it really is an amazing thing.”
