Tracee Ellis Ross opens up about her travel packing habits, particularly when it comes to her underwear and swimwear.
The former star of Black-ish made a surprising statement regarding her travel essentials during a recent appearance at Travel + Leisure‘s prestigious World’s Best Summit in New York City on July 15, as reported by People. She mentioned, “There’s always one bathing suit, a flip flop, and one little dress I can roll up,” emphasizing the importance of minimalism. “There’s always two undies,” she added, showcasing her unique approach to packing.
However, after her fans took her comments to heart on social media, she quickly clarified her packing strategy. Tracee noted that she actually ensures she has two pairs of underwear in her carry-on luggage—along with a significantly larger supply tucked away in her checked bags. She humorously addressed the situation on her Instagram Stories, stating, “I am a habitual overpacker and I always check at least 4 bags with plenty of underwear. Y’all need to quit it!! I ain’t got time for this, I’m on vacation!”
In addition to her packing anecdotes, Tracee shared her practical tips for maintaining her undergarments while traveling. She typically hand washes her essentials—including bras, swimsuits, and panties—and allows them to air dry, a strategy she finds effective while on the go.
“If I’m gone for a month on this trip, you can’t pack a month’s worth of underwear,” Tracee explained, highlighting the challenge of limited packing space. “How do you do that? They take up a lot of space,” she added, suggesting that travelers should consider similar strategies to optimize their luggage for longer trips.
