“I believe that we have an innate drive to create — I am truly made to create. I think many of us share this sentiment,” expressed Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach during an engaging conversation ahead of a recent concert in Kansas City. In an exclusive interview with Loudwire Nights, he delved into his passion for crafting new music and various other engaging topics. This insightful discussion was aired on Wednesday, April 23, and listeners can enjoy the entire conversation through the player located at the end of this article.

“The creative process is something I cherish deeply,” he told host Chuck Armstrong.
“I revel in the triumphs, and while I may not relish the failures as much, they are an integral part of the creative journey.” This candid reflection underscores Shaddix’s commitment to his craft.
Shaddix shared his thrill when presenting a chorus or a verse he crafted to the rest of his band. However, he also acknowledged the possibility that they may not embrace it immediately, yet he truly understands their perspective.
“I experience anger, frustration, and sadness when that happens, but I also draw strength from those feelings,” he revealed.
“Then I return to the drawing board, digging deeper into the creative process, discovering uncharted territories, and when we finally reach the song’s completion, the sense of fulfillment is immense.” This journey often rewards him even before the song reaches its final form, as he illustrated with a track yet to be released.
“Just last night, we received a new mix of this song,” Shaddix recounted with excitement.
“I listened to it at least ten times before going to bed. I found myself wanting to experience it again and again, completely immersed in the music. I reached a point where I wasn’t focusing on adjustments like turning the guitar up; I was simply lost in the song’s essence. There’s something uniquely special about that experience before it’s shared with the audience.”
