“I’ve learned a lot more about [KPop] Demon Hunters than I ever anticipated knowing. I’ve gained so much knowledge about being a dad from my little girls,” he told People. “They have no schedule. They’re not like, ‘Can you hurry up?’ So being present with them and being able to just act like phones and time don’t exist—that is most important.”

The A Very Jonas Christmas Movie star also expressed his hopes for what he wants to teach his daughters.

“To enjoy being a kid for as long as they can. That they can talk to me and their mom about anything,” he said. “That they feel the utmost safety and comfort possible. Whatever that entails. I’d prefer they see me as a friend and feel comfortable talking to me.”

Joe also mentioned that he hopes they inherit “kindness and understanding and the ability to see the best in people” from him.

Earlier this year, Joe reflected on having his brothers’ support during his divorce from Sophie.
