Phish has announced new concert dates for 2026 and opened ticket requests for fans to participate.
They will return to the Sphere in Las Vegas to perform nine shows starting April 16, with the series concluding on May 2. Fans can now apply for the opportunity to purchase tickets at the band’s official website. The initial request window will close on Monday (Dec. 8) at noon EST. All remaining tickets will be available for public sale on Friday, Dec. 12. A limited number of travel packages are also offered.
What is Phish’s History With the Sphere?
The venue in Las Vegas opened in the fall of 2023 with a headline-grabbing U2 residency that set high expectations for subsequent artists.
Although it might have been daunting to be the next band to perform at this innovative concert location, Phish made it appear effortless when they played the first of four sold-out shows in April 2024. “If U2 gave the world a taste of the spectacle that is the Sphere during their recent venue-opening residency, Phish utilized every element in the Las Vegas venue’s high-tech arsenal for an ultimate sensory experience,” journalist Mike Prevatt noted in his review of the opening night for UCR.
Drew Carey was even more direct with his thoughts, stating during an interview that the U2 show had amazed him when he attended. However, Phish, as he explained, elevated the experience further. “Three songs into Thursday night with Phish at the Sphere, I honestly was kinda mad. I wanted to call U2 and get my money back,” the comedian remarked. “It made them look like a bar band.”

What Else is Happening With Phish?
They will perform their annual New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden from Sunday, Dec. 28 through Wednesday, Dec. 31. The four shows will bring their total count to 91 concerts at this iconic New York venue. They also completed a fall tour that included an appearance at the annual Bourbon and Beyond festival and several performances in their hometown at the Hampton Coliseum (a venue that has created a lot of Phish memories and history).
Earlier this year, the jam legends were nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Guitarist Trey Anastasio expressed excitement as he discussed this milestone. “It’s an honor and a thrill, a recognition of our whole scene, of our community,” he told GQ. “That was the first thing we all talked about—that it’s a celebration of this community.”

Despite leading the fan vote throughout the process, Phish ultimately did not make it onto the final list of inductees, which most fans (indeed, all of them) viewed as a significant snub. However, Anastasio took it in stride during that same interview, joking that he wouldn’t be voting for his own band and that he (seriously, as a fellow music fan) wanted Soundgarden and Cyndi Lauper to be inducted before Phish.

Life has a peculiar sense of humor regarding its outcomes; Phish will have another opportunity (this year marked their first nomination after being eligible since 2014) to gain entry into the Hall. Let’s not forget their remarkable performance in 2010 celebrating Genesis’s induction that year.
