Ray J states he is prepared to present a significant witness in his ongoing dispute with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner regarding the notorious sex tape, claiming this person would have firsthand knowledge of the events that transpired.
The singer’s attorney, Howard King, informs TMZ that if Kim or Kris persist in denying their collaboration with Vivid Entertainment head Steve Hirsch to distribute the tape, King’s team is ready to summon Hirsch to testify.
TMZ reported earlier that both Kim and Kris submitted sworn declarations this week asserting they did not orchestrate a plan to film, sell, and distribute the tape titled “Kim Kardashian Superstar.”
According to King, those statements were made under oath, and he claims the mother-daughter duo blatantly lied.
King asserts that Hirsch could verify the involvement of Kim and Kris in orchestrating the tape’s release back in 2007.
He also issued a caution to Kim specifically, stating that if she aspires to become a lawyer one day, making false sworn statements could have serious repercussions, including potential criminal perjury charges.
A quick reality check: we’ve reported for years that there is no legal way Vivid could have released the sex tape without both Ray and Kim consenting to it, so that aspect is not really contested. The current debate centers on how involved Kim, and especially Kris, were in finalizing the deal.
In her declaration this week, Kris stated it is “absolutely false” if Ray J or anyone else claims she was involved in the “commercial exploitation” of her daughter through the sex tape.
In previous interviews, Hirsch — who no longer owns Vivid — has stated that Kris had no part in selling the tape.
As you may know, Kim and Kris filed a lawsuit against Ray J last October, accusing him of defamation; he promptly countered with a countersuit, alleging they violated a settlement agreement prohibiting anyone involved from publicly discussing the sex tape.
We reached out to representatives for Kim and Kris, but they declined to comment.
