Diddy‘s legal team, alongside federal prosecutors, is in the process of adding 16 new potential jurors to the selection pool. Notably, one prospective juror has expressed strong opinions regarding the Cassie beating video, which could significantly impact the trial’s dynamics.
As of now, following two days of jury selection, the jury pool has expanded to a total of 35 individuals. Today’s selection includes a diverse breakdown: 5 white males, 4 Black males, 3 Black females, 2 white females, 1 Latino male, and 1 individual whose ethnicity remains unspecified. This diversity in the jury pool is crucial for a fair trial.

Among the most intriguing candidates in this jury pool is a man who informed the judge that he had previously viewed the hotel surveillance video documenting Diddy’s assault on Cassie. He described Diddy as appearing “angry, hostile, and entitled” during the harrowing incident captured on film.
Despite his strong reactions to the video, this information was evidently not sufficient for the judge to dismiss him from consideration. It seems that the prosecutors were not deterred by a juror with such sentiments, and interestingly, the defense team also refrained from objecting to his inclusion in the jury selection.

However, it is essential to note that it is not guaranteed that this particular juror will be part of the final 12-person jury. Once enough individuals have been selected for the jury pool, both the prosecution and defense will narrow it down to a total of 18 jurors, which includes 6 alternates. The prosecution is allowed 6 preemptory challenges to remove potential jurors without stating a reason, while the defense is provided with 10 challenges for the same purpose.
It is crucial to highlight that the jury will NOT be sequestered throughout the duration of this trial, which may impact the trial’s proceedings and media coverage.
