The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks played a thrilling divisional game on Thursday Night Football on December 18, and after the game, one of the players tweeted and quickly deleted an inflammatory statement.
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was very critical of the referees post-game, and he posted a statement that referenced a comment he made a few days prior. While on a live stream earlier in the week, the 24-year-old NFL star said about refs, “The refs are the worst. These guys are lawyers. They want to be on TV too. You don’t think he’s texting his friends in the group chat like, ‘Yo, you just saw me on Sunday Night Football. That wasn’t PI but I called it.’”
Well, the Rams lost to the Seahawks last night, and one of the plays that was called in the Seahawks’ favor was very controversial. The Seahawks QB, Sam Darnold, attempted to throw a pass during the two-point conversion, but it looked incomplete. However, an obscure rule actually ended up giving the Seahawks the two points after it was ruled a backwards pass on the field, recovered by the ‘Hawks.
This led the game into overtime, which then led to the Seahawks winning.
So, what did Puka tweet and delete post-game?
