The icon of American fashion that is Ralph Lauren might not be part of the official CFDA New York Fashion Week schedule this season but that didn’t stop the designer from *unofficially* opening NYFW with a bang. On the evening of September 10, Mr. Lauren welcomed the fashion crowd inside his private design studio, located at 650 Madison Avenue. Guests like Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Laura Dern, and Oprah Winfrey were seated front row, as models (including Angelina Kendall, Anok Yai, and Imaan Hammam) emerged from backstage decked out in Ralph’s latest. Paraded down the minimalist runway was a selection of sophisticated and elegant menswear-inspired pieces and fluid dresses (in a simple color palette of white, black, and red).
