Just hours after Rashawn Slater, an offensive lineman for the Los Angeles Chargers, signed a lucrative new contract with the NFL team reportedly valued at an astonishing $144 million, according to various sources, the well-known football influencer Dov Kleiman remarked on the timing of the player’s recent separation from his wife, Stassney Brown, calling it “legendary.”
In a post shared on July 27 via X (previously known as Twitter), Kleiman stated, “Chargers star tackle Rashawn Slater has recently concluded his divorce from his wife. Today, Slater has finalized a $144 MILLION contract extension with the team, including a staggering $29 million signing bonus. Talk about impeccable timing.”
In a subsequent post, he added, “This historic deal ensures that his ex-wife won’t benefit financially from it.”
In response to these remarks, Brown—who married Slater in 2022 and publicly confirmed her single status on New Year’s Day—criticized Kleiman’s “deplorable” comments.
“I hold nothing but support for Rashawn,” Brown asserted in her reply. “His contract is not about me. We should shift our focus to what truly matters, which is his career and the success he is achieving.”
