A new update from HBO’s CEO has shed some light on the possibility of a third season of Nathan Fielder’s The Rehearsal getting a third season.
What is the latest update on The Rehearsal Season 3?
In a recent interview with Deadline, Casey Bloys was asked about the potential for The Rehearsal to receive a new season. Bloys previously mentioned that much of the decision rests with Fielder, and he confirmed that discussions have taken place since then.
“Yes. He’s talking to [HBO head of comedy] Amy Gravitt about ideas,” said Bloys. “I think he has a kernel of an idea that he seems to be excited by, but he and Amy are talking. So again, when he’s ready, he will come to us.
The Rehearsal is a docu-comedy television series created, written, and directed by Nathan Fielder. Each season follows Fielder, as a fictionalized version of himself, assisting individuals in navigating challenges through rehearsing difficult conversations or events.
“The Rehearsal follows one man’s journey to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life,” reads the series’ official synopsis. “With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder helps ordinary people prepare for life’s biggest moments by ‘rehearsing’ them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design.”
These simulations gradually become more elaborate, with the first season featuring Fielder recreating entire buildings to practice. The second season primarily focused on airline travel, where Fielder obtained a commercial pilot’s license and piloted a real plane.
