Rena Sofer is preparing to embark on a new chapter as she bids farewell to the vibrant West Coast.
The talented General Hospital actress, recognized for her role as band manager Lois Cerullo on the popular ABC soap opera, publicly shared her decision to relocate from Los Angeles after nearly 35 fulfilling years.
In her heartfelt Instagram post dated August 4, she reflected on her emotional journey, stating, “Yes, I’m getting emotional. I had my children in LA, met the man of my dreams, and built an incredible life there. My career saw amazing success in the industry, and I formed lifelong friendships that I will miss desperately.”
Rena, along with her husband Sanford Bookstaver, with whom she shares a 20-year-old daughter named Avalon Leone Bookstaver, plans to move to the serene landscapes of New York state, accompanied by their five beloved dogs.
Expressing gratitude, she said, “Thank you, LA, for being you,” adding that she is also the proud mother of artist Rosabel Rosalind, 28, from her previous relationship with Wally Kurth, who is also a General Hospital costar. “And now, onto quieter and calmer times.”
E! News has reached out to ABC for an official comment regarding Rena’s departure from the show but has not yet received a response. However, a source close to the 56-year-old actress informed E! News on August 7 that “there has not been a conversation about her leaving the show,” suggesting her fans may have more to look forward to.
