Retro Slasher Sequel Welcomes John Kassir as New Cast Member


After an impressive eight-year journey, writer and director Justin M. Seaman returns to the horror genre with the highly anticipated conclusion to his trilogy, aptly named The Barn Part III. The first installment, set in 1989, introduced audiences to the chilling world of The Barn—check out my detailed review here and grab your copy here. Following this, a sequel was released, and now Seaman is diligently wrapping up this captivating series. Both The Barn and The Barn Part II (available here) showcased a plethora of genre legends including Ari Lehman, who famously portrayed young Jason Voorhees in the original Friday the 13th, alongside iconic scream queen Linnea Quigley, renowned drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs, the beloved Diana Prince (a.k.a. Darcy the Mail Girl), Lloyd Kaufman from Troma, and Doug Bradley, the star of Hellraiser. The upcoming The Barn Part III promises to keep the excitement alive with familiar faces, including Courtney Gains from Children of the Corn and Kelli Maroney, known for her roles in Night of the Comet and Chopping Mall. Additionally, Felissa Rose from Sleepaway Camp and William Ragsdale from Fright Night have joined the cast, along with the announcement of John Kassir, the iconic voice of the Cryptkeeper from the classic anthology series Tales from the Crypt.

To refresh your memory, the original film The Barn revolves around a gripping narrative: On Halloween night in 1989, best friends Sam and Josh are determined to savor their last Devil’s Night before graduating high school. However, their plans take a dark turn when they and their friends accidentally stumble upon an eerie, abandoned barn, awakening a sinister force lurking within. As chaos ensues, Sam and Josh must muster their courage and ingenuity to protect their friends and confront the malevolent creatures hidden inside “The Barn”.

The synopsis for The Barn Part II adds another layer of intrigue: Three years after the horrifying events in Wheary Falls, Michelle continues to grapple with the haunting memories of that fateful Halloween night when her friends, including Sam and Josh, vanished without a trace. Now a college student, she and her best friend Heather find themselves in charge of organizing the annual Gamma Tau Psi haunted house. Yet, as they prepare for the festivities, uninvited guests from Michelle’s past arrive, bringing with them a wave of terror that threatens to repeat history.

As for the upcoming The Barn Part III, here’s what we know: Set years after the harrowing conclusion of The Barn Part II, the surviving characters remain haunted by the fear that the evil trio may return to complete their sinister harvest once and for all, leading to a gripping and suspenseful narrative that fans of the series have come to love.

The star-studded cast of The Barn Part III also includes Jessa Jupiter Flux from Debbie Does Demons, Angel Nichole Bradford from Crackcoon, Kansas Bowling from The Third Saturday in October Part V, Ellie Church from Space Babes from Outer Space, Tristan Olsen from American Flake, Amanda Byrne from Moonshine, Jake McClellan from HeBGB TV, and the returning stars Mitch Musolino from both The Barn and The Barn Part II.

Seaman is helming the project with a screenplay he penned alongside cinematographer Zane Hershberger. Producers P.J. Starks and Eric Huskisson are joined by executive producers Simon Lustenberger and Gareth ‘Slasher Trash’ Morgan. The Barn Part III is being produced by Nevermore Production Films in collaboration with Blood Moon Pictures. Currently, the film is running a successful Indiegogo campaign, having surpassed its initial fundraising goal of $25,000 and now standing at over $45,000, with exclusive copies available for purchase through the campaign.
