Rick Hearst recently discussed his character, Ric Lansing, being captured in a panic room in General Hospital by Alexis, Ava, and Kristina. Considering his past actions, many fans believe he had it coming.
Here’s what transpired, and what the actor had to say about the ongoing situation in the show.

Rick Hearst explains why Alexis, Ava, and Kristina are holding Ric captive in General Hospital
Ric wakes up in Alexis’ basement, confused about how he arrived there, and begs to be released. He had transferred a significant amount of money into a bond account with plans for revenge against Kristina. Instead, he finds himself tied to a cot.
Despite Ric’s assurances that he won’t press charges against Ava and Kristina, the women are unwilling to take that chance. They plan to keep him there for 30 days until the bond matures and they can access the funds. Once they receive the money, it will be returned to the Cassadine trust, and Ava will provide her evidence. Alexis explains that she made this deal with Ava, who agreed to hand over the security footage and Ric’s damaged car to help Kristina avoid prison.
Ric fears that once they have the money, Ava will kill him. However, she reassures him that they do not intend to harm him and will release him once they secure the funds. Later on, Kristina even assists Ric in recalling how he ended up there. He screams for help, but Alexis reminds him that no one can hear him and replaces the gag in his mouth.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Rick Hearst shared insights about the three women capturing Ric in General Hospital. He stated, “It was really not all about the money for Ric — it was really about revenge and payback on Kristina. But Ava doesn’t care about that. It was really all about the money for her from the get-go. For Alexis, it was about protecting her daughter.”
