The band Blackmore’s Night, led by Ritchie Blackmore, has canceled all remaining tour dates for 2025 due to unspecified medical reasons.

The news was shared on the former Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, stating: “All Blackmore’s Night shows postponed at this point due to medical reasons. We are sorry for any inconvenience.”

Details about the medical issue and the affected band member or members have not been disclosed.

Blackmore’s Night, known for their medieval-themed folk music, has only performed two of the six scheduled tour dates – November 9 in Alexandria, Virginia, and November 13 in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

The Alexandria concert included a special surprise when Blackmore performed a cover of “Child in Time,” from the 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock. “We’ve never done that before, and we’re never doing it again!,” he declared afterward.

The planned show on November 15 in Newtown, New Jersey was postponed earlier that same day, followed by the announcement that the November 20 show in Wilmington, Delaware would also be canceled.

This latest announcement affects the final two remaining dates – November 23 in Cohoes, New York, and November 29 in Tarrytown, New York.

A Heart Attack Put Ritchie Blackmore’s Career on Hold in 2023

In April of this year, Candice Night, Blackmore’s wife and bandmate, revealed that her husband suffered a heart attack in 2023, which halted his career. “Ritchie has actually been told by a cardiologist not to get on a plane,” she told Total Rock. “He’s got six stents. …I can’t believe he’s gonna be 80; he doesn’t look it and still doesn’t act it. But eventually, medical issues catch up with you.”
