Ritual Magic and TSA Nightmares in The First 6 Minutes Return

Even though today is Saturday, the renowned Netflix streaming platform has just released an exciting sneak peek—the first 6 minutes—of the highly anticipated season 2 of their popular Addams Family series, Wednesday. Filming for this season commenced in Ireland last May and wrapped up at the end of November. You can check out those thrilling 6 minutes in the video embedded above. But that’s not the only intriguing update we have about Wednesday—stay tuned for more!

In an exciting announcement, Netflix has revealed that season 2 of Wednesday will be released in two parts. The first batch of episodes will hit the streaming platform on August 6th, perfectly timed for a Wednesday launch. Following this, the second part is scheduled for release on September 3rd, which is, coincidentally, another Wednesday. During the special TUDUM presentation, Netflix also disclosed that the iconic Lady Gaga will make a special guest appearance in the upcoming season, adding even more excitement for fans.

Produced by Millar Gough Ink, Tim Burton Productions, Toluca Pictures, and MGM Television, Wednesday is characterized as a comedic series infused with supernatural elements, focusing on the teenage years of Wednesday Addams as she navigates her education at Nevermore Academy. In her quest, she aims to master her burgeoning psychic abilities, put an end to a monstrous killing spree that has gripped the town, and unravel a mystery that has haunted her family for 25 years—all while building new relationships at Nevermore. Snap snap. The season 2 synopsis paints a thrilling picture: Wednesday Addams is back among the Gothic architecture of Nevermore Academy, where she faces new challenges and adversaries. This season, she must juggle her family dynamics, friendships, and encounters with old foes, leading her into yet another year filled with delightfully dark and quirky adventures. With her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan humor, Wednesday is also thrust into a spine-chilling supernatural enigma.

Playing the titular role is the talented Jenna Ortega. Other beloved members of the Addams Family include Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Gomez and Morticia, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. Although Uncle Fester has only made a cameo in one episode so far, recent reports suggest that this character might soon have his own spin-off series. New cast members joining for season 2 include Anthony Michael Hall (Edward Scissorhands), Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski), Billie Piper (I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Lord of Misrule), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things), Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Frances O’Connor (The Missing), Haley Joel Osment (Tusk), Heather Matarazzo (Scream), and Joonas Suotamo (The Acolyte), with Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) portraying Grandmama.

The legendary Tim Burton directed half of season 2, mirroring his involvement in the first season. This means Burton is at the creative helm for four out of the eight episodes this time around, ensuring the continuation of his unique vision and style throughout the series.
