TMZ Sports has obtained police video from the night of Robert Quinn‘s January arrest, showing the ex-NFL star bleeding from his face while appearing to be combative with officers.
The incident occurred around 2 AM on January 10 in North Charleston, S.C., after Quinn allegedly crashed his truck into a parked car and attempted to flee the scene.
According to a North Charleston Police Department incident report, the former Dallas Cowboys pass rusher was confronted by officers as he appeared to be trying to leave the crash site with a ride from an acquaintance.
The report states that when officers attempted to arrest Quinn for leaving the scene of a collision with property damage, he resisted arrest.
Cops wrote in the report that they had to use an arm bar on the then-34-year-old, who exhibited slurred speech and was unwilling to identify himself, in order to bring him to the ground and place him in handcuffs.
In the newly obtained footage, authorities can be seen escorting Quinn to a squad car, where he struggled to maintain his balance. Once inside the vehicle, he appeared upset as blood dripped from multiple areas of his face.
Quinn, who could barely form complete sentences, repeatedly questioned why he was being arrested and then kicked the vehicle’s door in an apparent attempt to escape.
Ultimately, Quinn was transported to a medical facility for treatment of his wounds before being booked at a nearby jail.
The ex-football player is facing two misdemeanor charges related to the incident: one count of reckless driving and one count of hit and run. A trial is tentatively scheduled for December.
We reached out to Quinn’s attorney on Friday; however, he declined to comment.
