As the countdown continues with less than a week remaining in the Rock Hall fan voting, a prominent contender has emerged as the leading choice: Phish. This renowned jam band is currently in the lead with a remarkable total of 310,457 votes, positioning themselves ahead of other nominees.

In the second position is Bad Company, which has garnered 254,758 votes, closely followed by Billy Idol with 237,289 votes. The impressive performance of Phish suggests they may maintain their dominant position throughout the entire voting process. Notably, when voting commenced in February, Phish was also leading the pack from the outset.

Fan voting will officially conclude on April 21. Until then, music enthusiasts have the opportunity to cast their votes for up to seven artists each day. The eagerly awaited announcement of the inductees is set to take place later this month.

Phish Expresses Excitement Over Rock Hall Nomination

For the first time in their history, Phish has received a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, despite being eligible since 2014. Frontman Trey Anastasio expressed his feelings about the nomination in an interview with GQ earlier this year, stating, “It’s an honor and a thrill, a recognition of our whole scene, of our community.” This nomination signifies a celebration not only for the band but also for their dedicated community of fans and followers.

If Phish is inducted, Anastasio already has a specific individual in mind for the honor of presenting them at the ceremony. He mentioned, “I would be honored if Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend wanted to do it.” Anastasio praised Koenig for his articulate nature, intelligence, and understanding of the band, indicating that it would be preferable for someone to induct them who genuinely appreciates their music rather than a big-name star assigned to the task.
