Rose Byrne discusses working with Brad Pitt on Troy
Rose Byrne has established herself as a prominent figure in the industry. While she is widely recognized for her comedic performances, she has also demonstrated her capacity to take on complex dramatic roles. Recently, she starred in the critically acclaimed film If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, which is generating Oscar buzz.
Byrne shared insights about her role in Troy, a pivotal moment in her career, during an interview with W Magazine. She played the love interest of Brad Pitt in the film. “It was daunting, it was thrilling, it was radical, and I couldn’t even begin to think where to start with Linda, my character,” said the star of Platonic.
“I had a huge creative task, but it was also a great opportunity,” she added. Byrne also expressed that she felt extremely nervous even about watching the film. In Troy, she portrayed Briseis, the Princess of Troy. This character was a priestess of the Trojan Temple of Apollo who was captured by the Greeks and later fell in love with Achilles.
“I did not start in comedies,” Byrne stated. “I was in Troy, as the slave girl opposite Brad Pitt. It was swords and sandals and very serious.”
She also commented on her on-screen romantic partner, saying, “Brad was such a sweetheart.”
The star-studded film featured Orlando Bloom as Paris, Diane Kruger as Helen, Brian Cox as Agamemnon, Eric Bana as Hector, Peter O’Toole as Priam, and Sean Bean as Odysseus.
Rose Byrne continues to be active in both television and film. She will next appear in The Good Daughter, an upcoming television series from Peacock.
