This much-anticipated tour aligns perfectly with the release of Hickey on August 22 via OURNESS/Capitol Records. This sophomore album is the follow-up to their breakout debut, PRATTS & PAIN (2024), which propelled them into the spotlight. Their first album debuted in the top 10 of the ARIA charts and earned them multiple ARIA Awards, including the prestigious title of Best Group.

To give fans a taste of their new sound, the band has released the single “Moody,” co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen and produced by Blake Slatkin (known for his work with Gracie Abrams, Omar Apollo, and Charli XCX). The duo described the song as being about a girl, showcasing their relatable and emotional songwriting style.

Their latest single has made history by reaching the top of a Billboard chart for the very first time as “Moody” ascends to No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart dated July 12. This achievement surpasses the band’s previous high of No. 2 with their cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor,” which peaked at No. 2 on Alternative Airplay in July 2024.

Before the release of “Moody,” the duo achieved their highest position on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart with “If Our Love Is Dead,” which peaked at No. 39 in January. Notably, they are the first act to debut at No. 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart in 2025, following James Bay’s “Up All Night” and The Lumineers and Noah Kahan, which each spent a week at the top last October.

Since their formation in 2019, Royel Otis has made significant strides in the music industry, achieving two career top 10 hits on the Alternative Airplay chart. Their singles “Murder on the Dancefloor” and “Sofa King,” which peaked at No. 10 in November 2024, have solidified their presence in the music scene.

This upcoming homecoming tour is a remarkable conclusion to an exhilarating year for Royel Otis, who have taken the global stage by storm. They’ve performed at renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Governor’s Ball, and have conducted sold-out headline shows. Additionally, they created a buzz with an impromptu DJ set at Beyond the Valley in Australia. Before returning home, the duo will take their Meet Me in the Car tour across North America.
