Sam Ruddock, a well-known figure in the world of sports, is currently missing.

Authorities are actively engaged in a search for the 35-year-old British Paralympic athlete who vanished under mysterious circumstances following a trip to Las Vegas.

This talented athlete, who lives with cerebral palsy, represented Great Britain in various sports, including cycling, shot put, and sprint events during the 2012 and 2016 Paralympic Games. His family reported him missing after he unexpectedly ceased all communication on April 16, as reported by BBC.

Sam had traveled to Las Vegas from Warwickshire, England, to attend a Wrestlemania event just days before his disappearance, as shared by his friend Lucy Hatton with the media outlet.

Lucy mentioned that Sam had stayed with her shortly before embarking on his trip and emphasized that he typically maintains a high level of communication and engagement on social media platforms. Therefore, his sudden silence raised immediate concerns and was described as “extremely unusual,” reflecting a significant change in his typical behavior.

Furthermore, Lucy noted that he had not been “in quite the right head space” in the time leading up to his disappearance.

“I can confirm that Sam was indeed in Las Vegas,” she stated. “The alarming aspect is that he stopped all communication from the 16th, and due to his prominent presence on social media, many people quickly noticed his absence.”

His final Instagram post on April 16 showcased him enjoying a tour of Las Vegas, giving no indication of the troubling events to come.

Sam’s mother, Fran Ruddock, and Lucy have reported his disappearance to authorities in both the United Kingdom and the United States, actively seeking any leads that could assist in locating him.

“We are looking for anything at all that could help fill in the gaps,” his mother expressed, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The British Cycling organization has also released a statement urging the public to come forward.

“We encourage anyone who has had any contact with Sam since April 16 or who may possess any information regarding his whereabouts to reach out to their local police department immediately,” the statement emphasized.

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that an active investigation into the missing persons case is currently underway.

A spokesperson from the Foreign Office stated: “We are providing support to the family of this British man reported missing in Las Vegas and are in close communication with the relevant local authorities.”
